When the reasonable issue of NGO and media access to the Latvian-Belarus border, to see first hand what is or isn't happening, the right says "go to Minsk, ask for access" - to what? Prove that authoritarians are authoritarian?⬇️

The Latvian right is unaware of or indifferent to struggles by women against the Taliban and as far as confronting authoritarians, they are authoritarian themselves and shrug at the confrontations in Belarus⬇️

What is important for them is to deflect and confuse. The Latvian fight for greater women's rights is here, not in Kabul, and against any possible authoritarianism - it is in the still relatively free Latvian political arena, not Quixotic crusades to Minsk from Latvia.⬇️
