I enjoyed the first four episodes of Rings of Power so much, it's been twice as disappointing for the plot to start wobbling in 5 and then crash and burn in 6 & 7. There are SO many stupid moments, bad writing, and it strays from the lore of Tolkien's world for no good reason! 4 atbildes

The mithril subplot - fucking stupid in more ways than one The treatment of Isildur in episode 7 - fucking stupid (in general trying to build suspense around harm for any character whose precise death we know from Middle-earth history is stupid) The bit about Celeborn ???

Also that's not how pyroclastic flow works And that's not how dwarves would behave around immense treasure And if Halbrand is Sauron that will be the stupidest moment of all The show is so visually stunning the bad writing really hurts that much more.

Hilariously, none of the more common criticisms bother me. Not the POC elf, not the depiction of any cultures or costumes (it's a GORGEOUS show that really goes where no Middle-earth depiction has gone before!), not even that it felt "slow" (it didn't). The script just sucks.
